Halton Regional Police Service reported that Project Troubadour, a 10-month multi-jurisdictional investigation supported by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada and other partners, resulted in nine arrests and 85 criminal charges. Investigators identified 12 alleged victims of commercial sexual exploitation in the Greater Toronto Area, with charges including human trafficking, receiving material benefits, money laundering and possession of proceeds of crime. Police executed 10 search warrants across the Greater Toronto Area on July 13, seizing luxury vehicles, drugs, electronic devices, approximately $30,000 in Canadian and U.S. currency, and high-end jewelry estimated at $450,000. The investigation remains ongoing, and police anticipate further charges.
