The Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) issued a public statement to clarify that MEXC Global Ltd has been dissolved in Seychelles and does not, and has never, had authorisation to operate under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024. MEXC Global Ltd was incorporated as an International Business Company on 18 February 2020, struck off on 17 August 2023 and automatically dissolved on 18 December 2024. The FSA noted that, prior to the VASP Act taking effect on 15 September 2024, entities offering virtual asset-related services were not required to be licensed or authorised; however, the VASP Act introduced a transitional period ending 31 December 2024 during which existing operators could apply for a licence to continue operating, and MEXC Global Ltd did not apply. The FSA said it will continue monitoring the virtual asset sector and encouraged the public to report suspected unauthorised or unlicensed virtual asset service provider activity via the reporting form on its website.
