The ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) issued a warning about misleading statements on the MaskEx website (maskex.com), which promotes crypto wallet and trading platform services and claims to hold an ADGM Category 3C Money Services Business licence and be registered in ADGM. FSRA flagged that these claims may mislead investors and the public into believing MaskEx is authorised to provide financial services in or from ADGM. FSRA advised that MaskEx is not and has never been granted Financial Services Permission to carry on any Regulated Activity in or from ADGM, and is not and has never been incorporated or licensed for commercial activities in ADGM. The regulator urged market participants to verify a firm’s authorisation through the FSRA Public Register and to check the ADGM Registration Authority’s Public Register where a website or firm claims ADGM incorporation or registration.

The authority clarified that MaskEx has never been authorised to conduct any Regulated Activity in or from ADGM nor licensed for commercial activities there, and urged market participants to verify such claims via the FSRA and ADGM Registration Authority public registers.
