Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance reported that the Cabinet of Ministers suspended Mykola Hladyshenko, chair of the supervisory board of JSC Sense Bank, from his duties for six months. The government also initiated the suspension of Oleksii Stupak, chair of the bank’s management board. The decision was taken under Ukraine’s banking law and considered publicly available information from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. It is intended to protect the supervisory board’s proper functioning and address risks involving the potential use of the bank for money laundering and inadequate oversight of anti-money laundering procedures.
