The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) published its Quarterly Superannuation Performance statistics for the June 2025 quarter, reporting that total superannuation assets rose to AUD 4,330.1 billion as at 30 June 2025. Assets increased by 4.8% over the quarter and by 9.8% compared with June 2024, with AUD 3,039.5 billion held in APRA-regulated funds. The release shows APRA-regulated assets up 11.7% year on year, while self-managed super fund assets increased 5.5% to AUD 1,051.8 billion, exempt public sector superannuation scheme assets rose 6.9% to AUD 178.8 billion, and life office statutory fund assets increased 4.7% to AUD 60.0 billion. For the year to June 2025, employer contributions rose 10.1% to AUD 151.1 billion and member contributions increased 25.8% to AUD 59.1 billion; benefit payments rose 12.8% to AUD 132.5 billion, driven by lump sum payments up 14.3% to AUD 73.3 billion and pension payments up 11.0% to AUD 59.2 billion. For entities with more than six members, total contributions increased 14.1% to AUD 210.2 billion and net contribution flows rose 13.8% to AUD 70.5 billion.
