The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency published an update on a two-day study visit by representatives of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority, focused on supervisory and regulatory experience in insurance and capital markets. The discussions covered the legislative and regulatory framework for the insurance market, including recovery and resolution of insurance companies, as well as supervision of the capital market, investment firms and investment funds. A key focus was Hanfa’s experience in aligning national rules for insurance companies, undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities, alternative investment funds and the capital market with the European Union acquis, alongside the development of supervisory practices. The visit also included talks on strategic priorities, ongoing regulatory reforms, challenges in financial market supervision and ways to deepen cooperation between the two authorities. Hanfa said the cooperation is based on a Memorandum of Understanding and has been carried out for many years through European Union-funded activities and bilateral initiatives.
