Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) published its quarterly Financial Saving and Financing report and an accompanying public dataset with statistics on Mexico’s financial system intermediation channels, using figures as of June 2024. The dataset provides detailed breakdowns of financial saving components, including deposit taking by intermediaries, holdings of fixed income securities and fiduciary stock exchange certificates, and external saving, as well as financing components, including loan portfolios, domestic debt issuance and fiduciary stock exchange certificates, and external financing. As of the second quarter of 2024, total financial saving (domestic and external) was equivalent to 90.1% of GDP with a balance of MXN 30.5 trillion, while total financing reached 94.1% of GDP with a balance of MXN 31.9 trillion; domestic financing to the private sector stood at 36.1% of GDP in June 2024.
