The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported on a meeting between its chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda and Agricultural Bank of China chairman Gu Shu focused on widening Tajikistan-China banking cooperation. The discussions covered stronger interbank links, broader correspondent banking relationships, support for investment, trade finance, joint projects, digital financial services, banking technology, risk management and financial infrastructure. The Tajik side said cooperation between Chinese banks and Tajik credit institutions has supported bilateral trade and investment for years and noted that opening branches of Chinese banks in Tajikistan could deepen those ties. Tolibzoda also briefed the Chinese delegation on Tajikistan's macroeconomic and financial sector conditions, while Gu Shu expressed readiness to expand cooperation on training, exchange of banking practices, green economy development, economic digitalization, cybersecurity, compliance and staff capacity building.
