The Bank of Korea reported that Korea’s official foreign reserves totaled USD 440.6 billion at the end of September 2026, down USD 1.7 billion from August. Securities declined by USD 1 billion to USD 386 billion, accounting for 87.6% of reserves, while deposits fell by USD 400 million to USD 30 billion and special drawing rights decreased by USD 300 million to USD 15.5 billion. Gold remained at USD 4.8 billion and Korea’s International Monetary Fund position was unchanged at USD 4.3 billion.
