The Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission published August 2026 data showing lower monthly credit card retail sales and installment balances, while electronic payment account use and transaction volumes generally increased. Credit card delinquency remained unchanged, and the cash card delinquency ratio declined. Credit card retail sales fell to TWD 432.6 billion from TWD 454.4 billion in July, while outstanding installment balances declined to TWD 245.2 billion from TWD 263.9 billion. Revolving credit edged up to TWD 119.2 billion, active cards increased to 40.12 million and the delinquency ratio remained at 0.18%. Electronic payment account users rose to 41.89 million, with agency payment transactions reaching TWD 34.13 billion and small amount remittances reaching TWD 18.27 billion. Cash card loans declined to TWD 9.4 billion, while the segment’s delinquency ratio fell to 0.922%.
