Ireland's Department of Finance has opened an expression of interest process to appoint financial literacy ambassadors to support the National Financial Literacy Strategy and participate in an EU network of ambassadors linked to the EU Financial Literacy Strategy. The ambassadors are expected to communicate key financial literacy messages, help empower Irish citizens to take control of their finances, and promote the EU Financial Literacy Strategy. The initiative was announced by Tánaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris TD at the First Annual Savings and Investment Forum at the Central Bank in Dublin, with the European Commission having advised Member States to appoint between one and three ambassadors. Expressions of interest must be submitted by 5pm on 30 April 2026.
