The State Bank of Vietnam reported that the Party Committee of Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS) held its second congress for the 2025-2030 term, with Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung attending and providing direction on NAPAS’s priorities for the period. The congress also elected the NAPAS Party Executive Committee for 2025-2030 and selected delegates to attend the State Bank of Vietnam Party Congress for the same term. The update highlighted NAPAS’s role in supporting Vietnam’s 2021-2025 cashless payments programme, including a shift from ATM cash withdrawals towards faster transfers and QR-based payments. NAPAS 247 fast transfers accounted for 93.6% of total transactions in 2024, alongside ongoing rollout of products such as contactless payment cards and VietQR. For 2025-2030, NAPAS set directions including expanding domestic and international connectivity and applying AI and Big Data to strengthen monitoring and risk prevention, while the Deputy Governor emphasised strengthening technology capacity, operating a seamless and safe payment system, and enhancing staff training.
