The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, conducted online training on the development and distribution of voluntary private pensions (Pillar 3) under the International Finance Corporation Digital Financial Services project, with participation from international experts. The sessions on 8 and 21 July targeted entities regulated under the new legislative framework for voluntary private pensions, including insurers, asset managers and pension companies, and covered international practices, product development and sales strategies, and distribution challenges and opportunities linked to digital approaches. Training was led by World Bank-invited experts William Fry (Managing Director, D3P Global) and Mark Davis (Head of the Financial Sector, World Bank Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation). Participants included Georgia-licensed insurance companies, registered insurance brokers, asset management companies, Sakaeronavigation LLC (founder of a professional pension scheme), industry associations and unions, the National Bank of Georgia in its role as specialised depository and supervisor of an asset management company, and ministry representatives.
