The event marked three decades of the exchange's role in developing Tanzania's capital markets and broader economy, while also serving as a forum for regional stakeholders to reflect on progress in strengthening capital markets and advancing financial integration across East Africa. The authority framed its participation as part of growing financial-sector cooperation between Rwanda and Tanzania. Both countries are members of the East African Securities Regulatory Authorities, which regional regulators use to promote harmonised regulatory frameworks, cross-border investment and deeper capital market integration within the East African Community.
