The People's Bank of China’s Party committee convened an enlarged meeting to hear 2025 annual accountability and integrity reports from heads of department-level units and Party secretaries on grassroots Party-building work, and conducted an appraisal. Governor Pan Gongsheng chaired the meeting, with Party committee members providing comments on their respective areas and officials from the Central Financial Work Commission attending to provide guidance. Ten units, including the Beijing branch, delivered on-site reports while other units submitted written reports. Looking ahead to 2026, the meeting called on units to strengthen political construction and implementation of mechanisms such as the leadership group theoretical study programme and the “first agenda item” system, embed discipline education into routine management and supervision, and better integrate Party building with business work under “one post, two responsibilities”. It also urged tighter grassroots organisational arrangements aligned with central bank responsibilities, improvements to cadre selection and team management, continued follow-up on remediation of issues identified through central inspections, and accountability for superficial or falsified rectification.
