Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) published a recap of Superintendent Francisco A. Torres’ remarks at the 12th Supervisors' Meeting of the International Association of Pension Fund Supervisors (AIOS) in Mexico City on 20–21 October, outlining recent developments in the Dominican pension system and SIPEN’s work since the last AIOS assembly in February 2025. Reported highlights included SIPEN publications on labour markets and average contribution density, a discussion forum on new pension trends, and strengthening of technical and actuarial capabilities alongside educational and technological initiatives that secured first place at the International Social Security Association’s International Festival of Videos on Social Security in Malaysia. Torres also cited the reach of the “Here we know about pensions” recognition seal, with more than 14,000 people trained across 15 companies, and more than 23,000 users assisted via the Tu Futuro user service centre, including through the R.I.T.A chatbot. The update further referenced inter-institutional and international cooperation agreements, a general increase in pension fund investments, assets, membership and contributions, and progress on complementary pension plans; Torres additionally moderated a panel on alternative investments covering market trends, sectors and challenges.
