The National Credit Union Administration placed Copper & Glass Federal Credit Union in Glassport, Pennsylvania, into conservatorship due to unsafe and unsound practices, while keeping member services running. Member deposits remain protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, which insures individual accounts up to USD 250,000, a member’s combined interest in all joint accounts up to USD 250,000, and IRA and KEOGH retirement accounts separately up to USD 250,000, backed by the full faith and credit of the United States. Copper & Glass Federal Credit Union is a federally insured credit union with 1,255 members and approximately USD 7.1 million in assets based on its most recent Call Report. Normal transactions, including deposits, access to funds, and loan payments, are expected to continue as the NCUA works to resolve issues affecting the credit union’s operations.
