The Central Bank of Cyprus hosted the governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Irena Radović, and a senior delegation for an official working visit focused on central banking responsibilities and European integration. The main substance of the visit was an exchange on Cyprus’ practical experience in applying the requirements of the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem. Discussions covered organizational structures, governance arrangements, resource allocation, operational efficiency, digital transformation, information technology services and infrastructure, and payment systems. Senior Central Bank of Cyprus officials also presented practical lessons from Cyprus’ accession to the European Union and its subsequent adoption of the euro. The visit was framed as part of the Central Bank of Montenegro’s ongoing preparations for future participation in the European System of Central Banks and the Eurosystem.
