The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, including participation in the 14th edition of the AIM 2025 International Investment Congress in Abu Dhabi. During a Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors roundtable, he presented recent macroeconomic and financial developments in Kosovo and highlighted central bank priorities, including strengthening financial-sector resilience, addressing risks from digital transformation and new technologies, aligning the legal framework with European Union standards, and advancing integration into modern payment systems. As part of the visit, Ismaili met senior officials of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, including deputy governors responsible for banking and insurance supervision and for banking operations and support services. Discussions covered potential inter-institutional cooperation across financial supervision, consumer protection, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, payments modernisation, financial inclusion and alternative banking, and professional capacity building; the programme also included meetings with the UAE Ministry of Economy and other AIM 2025 country delegations.
