The Dominican Republic Superintendency of Banks has expanded its Dominican Banking Market Information System, known as SIMBAD, with tools for analyzing interest rates on newly disbursed loans, comparing credit card costs and tracking financial conditions. The lending dashboard allows data to be filtered by financial institution, financing type, facility, term, amount, currency and economic sector. The upgrade introduces a revised credit card cost index methodology that improves the aggregation of its components, as well as a Financial Conditions Index showing changes in national financial conditions relative to economic activity. SIMBAD also has a redesigned navigation menu, new tables and interactive visualizations for comparing metrics by institution type, region and gender and tracking changes over time.
