The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission convened a regulator-wide party-building work meeting, chaired by Party Secretary and Commissioner Li Yunze, to set priorities for party-building across the system for the period ahead and to embed Party leadership throughout supervisory work. The work plan focused on strengthening political development and ideological education, improving the organisational system in line with the four-tier vertical management structure, and implementing the Party’s cadre and organisational line to build a clean, professional and capable supervisory workforce. It also called for sustained discipline and anti-corruption efforts, continued implementation of the central “eight-point” rules education, measures to curb formalism and reduce burdens on基层 units, and normalised long-term follow-up on central inspection rectification. Party-building was framed as supporting the core supervisory agenda, including advancing reform and risk resolution for small and medium-sized financial institutions, preventing and defusing risks in key areas, cracking down on illegal financial activities, standardising financial institutions’ business conduct, strengthening financial consumer protection, and improving the targeting and effectiveness of regulation.
