The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority has required companies and other legal entities licensed to conduct nonbank financial activities to register for and activate an account on the Egypt National Post Authority’s Baridi registered email service within three months of the decision’s publication in the Egyptian Gazette. The measure implements the authorities’ earlier cooperation agreement to replace paper based regulatory correspondence gradually with a secure, documented digital channel. It does not apply to supervised natural persons. Each Baridi account will serve as the entity’s official digital address. Correspondence, notices and announcements sent through it will be legally recognized, alongside electronic evidence of delivery, receipt or failed delivery. Receiving communications from the regulator is mandatory and free, while using the service to send correspondence to the regulator is optional and subject to the postal authority’s rules and charges. Covered entities must keep their accounts active, maintain current information and designate responsible and authorized users. Registration also requires identity and document checks, acceptance of the service terms, allocation of user permissions and operational testing of delivery, notifications and failed receipt handling under technical procedures set by the two authorities.
