The Bermuda Ministry of Finance reported that a Bermudian delegation held high-level meetings in London from 6 to 10 October to strengthen financial crime compliance and information-sharing with the United Kingdom, as part of preparations for Bermuda’s upcoming 5th Round mutual evaluation by the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force. The delegation included the Ministry of Justice’s Financial Sanctions Implementation Unit, the Financial Intelligence Agency, the Bermuda Police Service and the Customs Department. Engagements covered cooperation with HM Treasury’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation and the National Crime Agency, including its UK Financial Intelligence Unit and Combatting Kleptocracy Cell, with a focus on bolstering operational partnerships and supporting capacity-building commitments highlighted in Bermuda’s Budget.
