The Bank of Italy announced that its Superior Council has unanimously appointed Sergio Nicoletti Altimari to the Directorate as Vice Director General. The appointment was made on the Governor’s proposal. Nicoletti Altimari is currently a senior official serving as Head of the Economics and Statistics Department. Under Article 18 of the Bank’s Statute, the appointment requires approval by decree of the President of the Republic, promoted by the Prime Minister in agreement with the Minister of Economy and Finance, after hearing the Council of Ministers.
