The Central Bank of Argentina approved its 2025 financial statements, reporting a record ARS 34.3 trillion profit, up 34% from 2024 in constant currency. Net worth rose 66.3% to ARS 51.3 trillion, supported by improved asset quality, higher international reserves and sharply lower interest expenses. Assets increased 25% to ARS 187.6 trillion, while international reserves rose 48.5% to USD 41.095 billion. The increase reflected the Treasury’s repurchase of nontransferable notes using USD 14.5 billion in International Monetary Fund disbursements, USD 3 billion of repurchase agreements with foreign banks and a 64.9% rise in the dollar price of gold. Net trading gains increased 66.4%, interest and indexation expenses fell 92.7%, and currency issuance costs declined by a cumulative 84%. Liabilities grew 14.3% to ARS 136.3 trillion. Of ARS 35.8 trillion in accumulated results, the board allocated ARS 11.4 trillion to capital and the general reserve and made the remaining ARS 24.4 trillion available to the Treasury. The central bank also retrospectively aligned its accounting for repurchase transactions with generally accepted professional standards and identified no other material measurement differences in balance-sheet assets and liabilities.
