Monetary Authority of Macao concludes mainland China promotion series for new investment fund regime with Xiamen session

The Monetary Authority of Macao held a presentation session in Xiamen on the advantages and development opportunities of Macao’s investment fund sector, marking the end of a mainland China promotion series tied to the implementation of Macao’s Investment Funds Law and related supporting measures, including tax incentives. The initiative is aimed at attracting qualified investment fund management companies to establish and operate in Macao. More than 150 representatives from public bodies, industry associations, fund managers, banks and securities firms attended the Xiamen event. Monetary Authority of Macao officials outlined the legal regime for investment fund business in Macao and its supporting measures, while the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute presented Macao’s business environment and company establishment procedures. The programme also included experience-sharing by Macao industry participants and institutions interested in setting up in Macao, followed by networking and business matching meetings. The Xiamen session completed a promotion programme launched in January that also covered Shanghai, Guangzhou, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and Shenzhen, with total attendance of more than 680 representatives. The Monetary Authority of Macao said it will continue promotional efforts through various channels to attract more fund management companies to Macao.
