The Central Bank of Jordan has signed agreements with Aqaba Digital Hub at Aqaba Digital City to launch the Kingdom’s first locally hosted integrated cloud cybersecurity services platform based on Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and to approve Aqaba Digital City’s data center as the hosting location for the central bank’s disaster recovery site to support business continuity. The national cloud cybersecurity services platform is positioned as part of the Central Bank of Jordan’s Financial and Banking Sector Cyber Incident Response Team (Jo-FinCERT) efforts, providing financial sector institutions with an integrated set of cybersecurity services and solutions tailored to their needs to help address rising cyber threats and protect enabling infrastructure supporting digital transformation and financial technology initiatives. Aqaba Digital City was selected to host the platform due to its Internet Exchange Point, intended to enable internal service continuity in all circumstances and support protection and sovereignty over national data. The disaster recovery site hosting arrangement is described as aligned with international standards and best practices for selecting disaster recovery sites.
