The Central Bank of Russia’s September regional economy report found that consumer activity continued to grow moderately across most Russian macroregions in July and August. July sales increased for cars, household appliances, furniture and home improvement goods, while domestic tourist flows declined and growth in demand for commercial services slowed. Output rose in several industries, with car production in the Central and Volga-Vyatka macroregions exceeding early 2026 levels and coal production increasing in Siberia. By contrast, cargo transshipment declined at seaports in the Far Eastern, North-Western and Southern macroregions, while oil and gas production continued to fall in the Urals.
