The International Association of Insurance Supervisors announced that CGAP will become the new host and convenor of the Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii) effective 1 July 2025, with the IAIS joining CGAP as a member. The change transfers A2ii’s coordination into the CGAP platform while maintaining its role as the IAIS’ implementation partner on financial inclusion. Under CGAP stewardship, A2ii will prioritise promoting adoption of the Inclusive Insurance Declaration in national financial inclusion strategies, running Inclusive Insurance Innovation Labs as peer-exchange and testing forums, and ensuring inclusive insurance work informs relevant IAIS activities and global policy discussions. From 1 July, current A2ii materials will be hosted on CGAP’s website, while the A2ii self-assessment tool will be available on the IAIS website, with other pre-transition materials remaining accessible through a dedicated link. A2ii training tools and materials will be supported by the Toronto Centre, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and the International Actuarial Association in partnership with the IAIS, which will continue to develop capacity-building partnerships for supervisors.
