The Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Finance and CAF, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, convened a dialogue with government and business representatives on using CAF financing and technical expertise to support domestic firms, public-private partnerships and national development initiatives. Discussions included potential support for the National Revitalisation Blueprint, which comprises 129 projects across 13 development nodes. CAF outlined its financial and technical instruments for private enterprises and public-private partnerships. Its existing engagement includes a USD 35 million facility approved with EXIMBANK in 2025 for small and medium-sized enterprises, regional co-financing partnerships and a USD 20 million anchor investment in the VELA Fund, which aims to become a USD 150 million regional investment vehicle. The fund targets high-impact sectors, with 20% allocated to smaller Caribbean and Central American economies.
