The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has warned consumers against dealing with Yepbit and Yepbit Exchange after investors reported being unable to withdraw funds. ASIC has removed several websites purportedly operated by the digital asset and futures trading platform and placed warnings on its Investor Alert List. Yepbit does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and is not registered on AUSTRAC’s Virtual Asset Service Provider Register. ASIC also rejected Yepbit’s claims that the regulator had frozen investor funds while the platform complied with audits or regulatory requirements, describing the statements as false and designed to deflect refund requests. ASIC continues to pursue the removal of harmful websites, including in cooperation with other government agencies.
