The Uganda Capital Markets Authority issued a regulatory notice requiring all public listed companies and market intermediaries to be in full compliance with the Capital Markets Authority (Corporate Governance) Regulations, 2025, following the expiry of the transition period. Regulation 27 provided a 12-month transition period from the gazettement date of 24 January 2025, which lapsed on 24 January 2026. The Authority indicated it will undertake enforcement action and remedial measures against any public listed companies and market intermediaries found to be non-compliant, under its supervisory and enforcement mandate in the Capital Markets Act, Cap. 64.
