The European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) announced a public hearing on 13 October 2025 to assess the Commission’s review of the securitisation framework, including amendments to the Securitisation Regulation (SECR) and the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR). The hearing is intended to inform ECON’s work on the legislative files, with Ralf Seekatz (EPP) as rapporteur. Experts from True Sale International, Finance Watch, the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), and the European Systemic Risk Board will address the role of securitisation and specific elements of the proposal and respond to Members’ questions. The review package was adopted in June 2025 and is described as the Commission’s first major legislative package under the Savings and Investments Union initiative. ECON indicated that a draft programme and the speakers’ CVs will follow.
