The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority published remarks by its Insurance Commissioner, Dr Baghayo Saqware, urging editors and journalists to prioritise investigative reporting within the insurance sector, in the context of a workshop on universal health insurance held in Dar es Salaam. TIRA indicated it will provide strong cooperation, including financial support, to facilitate investigative work that can help expose insurance fraud and strengthen the insurance market. The workshop was attended by the Minister of Health, Mohamed Mchengerwa, and institutions including NHIF, Muhimbili National Hospital and the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute, alongside other stakeholders.
