The Central Bank of Estonia has published its monthly flash estimate of the balance of payments, produced each month for the month two months prior. It also confirmed that the balance of payments for the second quarter of 2025 will be published on 10 September 2025. The quarterly balance of payments is compiled from a combined, representative set of primary data sources, including company surveys, while the monthly estimate is based on a much smaller database. The monthly estimate uses as much data as is available for the reported month, including administrative sources and reports on international payments, but remains partly subjective and is therefore presented as an estimate; once quarterly data are released, the monthly figures are adjusted accordingly. Statistical releases are published together with the underlying statistical data and are presented separately from economic policy releases.
