The National Credit Union Administration will host a one-hour webinar, in collaboration with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, titled “Financial Education & Frontline Action to Address Scams” on March 12 at 1 p.m. The session is aimed at credit unions and banks and will focus on prevalent financial scams and actions financial institutions can take to reduce risk and protect consumers. Content will include practical strategies for combating fraud and identifying suspicious or unauthorized activity, along with financial education resources institutions and community partners can use, including MyCreditUnion.gov and the FDIC’s Money Smart resources. The webinar will also feature representatives from a credit union and a community bank sharing best practices for preventing fraud and detecting potentially fraudulent activity. Registration is required but free, and participants can submit questions in advance or during the webinar. A recording will be posted to the NCUA’s YouTube channel after the live broadcast.
