The Central Bank of the UAE held its first National Financial Inclusion and Literacy Policy Forum in Abu Dhabi, positioning it as the initial step in launching a National Financial Inclusion Strategy and a National Financial Literacy Strategy. Alongside the forum, the CBUAE and the World Bank signed a partnership agreement to support the development of both strategies and to exchange technical expertise. The strategies are intended to expand access to financial services and strengthen financial awareness, with targeted initiatives and educational programmes aimed at consumers, small and medium enterprises and underbanked people. The work will also emphasise digitalisation and technological solutions to support equal and simpler access, and will be developed through specialised studies and research with input from federal and local government bodies, the private sector and community members to coordinate development and implementation.
