The Hong Kong Insurance Authority has published an update on claims handling following the Wang Fuk Court fire, reporting that processing for 1,032 claims, around 85% of the total, has been completed involving almost HKD 510 million. Across general insurance, 863 of 1,030 claims, 84%, have been settled involving about HKD 450 million. For long-term insurance, 169 of 188 claims, 90%, have been settled involving about HKD 60 million. The remaining claims require on-site inspections and damage assessments, and the Insurance Authority will continue to follow up with the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers.
