The European Investment Bank is providing EUR 100 million for Rezolv Energy’s Dama Solar project in western Romania, supporting a total estimated investment of EUR 728 million. The planned 1.3 gigawatt solar plant will connect to Romania’s high voltage network and is expected to generate enough electricity annually for more than 280,000 households. The project has secured two 15-year Contracts for Difference covering 520 megawatts of capacity. Remaining output is expected to be sold into the market and supplied to commercial and industrial customers under long-term agreements. Construction is expected to require a peak workforce of about 1,500 over the next three years, while an associated 82-hectare nature restoration area will restore degraded grassland and provide wildlife habitat.
