The Australian Securities & Investments Commission published an update that the Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board (CADB) has cancelled the registration of Bradley Laurence Willot Taylor as a company auditor after finding he failed to adequately and properly carry out his duties in the audit of iSignthis Ltd’s financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2018. Taylor, a partner of Grant Thornton Audit Pty Ltd and lead auditor on the FY2018 engagement, was the subject of an ASIC application to the CADB commenced in November 2020. The CADB made its findings on 25 June 2025, with ASIC noting that auditor misconduct is a 2025 enforcement priority. The disciplinary proceedings were substantially delayed by related criminal proceedings against Grant Thornton Audit and Taylor in the Melbourne Magistrates Court, which are adjourned pending completion of a Diversion Program that would lead to discharge of the defendants without any finding of guilt, and by Taylor’s Federal Court judicial review proceedings and ASIC’s subsequent appeal, resulting in ASIC’s CADB application being stayed from 12 May 2022 to late 2024.
