The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has launched the “Stock Market Learning Competition Game”, an educational initiative run with the German Foundation for International Cooperation Sparkassenstiftung and the Kosovo Banking Association to give students and young professionals practical exposure to capital markets through participation in the Stuttgart Virtual Stock Exchange. The launch involved students from eight faculties and young bank employees in Kosovo. The central bank linked the initiative to its strategic priorities on financial education, access to finance and financial inclusion, and highlighted related programmes including awards for young economists and financial journalism, as well as cooperation with universities and secondary schools. The governor also pointed to the need to pair financial education with digital skills in a changing financial landscape and referenced the central bank’s financial products and services comparison platform as part of its consumer transparency work, alongside Kosovo’s early-stage efforts to develop capital markets based on an approved concept document aligned with European Union regulations and international best practices. The competition is set to conclude with prizes for the three most successful teams.
