Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Pension Fund Administrators (SBS), together with more than 60 public, private and non-governmental organisations, will hold a new edition of World Savings Week from 17 to 23 March under the theme “Be careful who you follow, protect your money”. The campaign is positioned as Peru’s largest financial education initiative and forms part of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Global Money Week. This edition places particular emphasis on critical judgement and self-protection in financial and digital environments, reflecting the expansion of digital finance, the rise of financial influencers, and growing use of artificial intelligence. The programme is intended to promote fraud prevention and safeguarding personal data, and will include more than 300 in-person and virtual activities for children, young people and their families across different regions, including talks, workshops, museum visits, competitions, games and academic conferences.
