The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili met Tobias Adrian, Financial Counsellor and Director of the International Monetary Fund’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM), and reaffirmed strategic cooperation aimed at strengthening Kosovo’s financial stability and regulatory frameworks. The discussion covered global economic developments and the continued BQK–IMF MCM collaboration, with an emphasis on macro-financial stability, regulatory advancement and the development of modern financial-sector frameworks aligned to Kosovo’s evolving needs. The parties reconfirmed continued work across risk-based supervision, crisis preparedness, cybersecurity and the implementation of international best standards, and discussed potential avenues to expand the technical cooperation programme supporting the long-term development of Kosovo’s financial sector.
