The National Bank of Denmark published figures showing that pension wealth held in Danish pension companies increased by DKK 317bn in 2024 to DKK 4,351bn, bringing the level back to where it stood before the sharp decline in 2022. Over the past two years, pension wealth has risen by DKK 601bn, mainly driven by large capital gains on equities and bonds. Higher pension contributions also supported the increase, with net contributions of DKK 48bn in 2024; contributions have risen in recent years partly reflecting wage increases and higher employment.
