Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defence of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) published consumer complaint statistics for the state of Nayarit covering January to September 2025, reporting 3,547 complaints, up 28.5% versus the same period in 2024 and representing 1.8% of complaints nationwide. Most cases were handled through CONDUSEF’s Electronic Management channel (78.0%), with 10.2% processed through the REDECO channel for issues linked to debt collection agencies and 11.8% through other procedures. Tepic accounted for 67.9% of complaints in the state, followed by Xalisco (6.5%) and Bahía de Banderas (6.0%). The total amount claimed reached MXN 101.1 million (up 20.4% year on year), while the amount recovered was MXN 12.2 million (down 9.0%). The most complained-about products were the special credit report, credit cards and personal loans (56.8% combined), with leading causes including delays in delivering the special credit report, failure to update credit history and unrecognised transactions (34.0% combined). By sector, multiple banking represented 46.7% of complaints, followed by credit information companies (29.3%) and insurers (9.3%); within multiple banking, 30.3% of complaints involved older adults and 43.1% were linked to possible fraud, mainly unrecognised transactions and charges.
