The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission reported that its Secretary-General, Chuchat Pramoolpol, visited Udon Thani to monitor road-accident prevention efforts during the Songkran 2026 holiday period and to ensure local preparedness to support the public through insurance-related assistance. Udon Thani was treated as a higher-risk area given heavy intra- and interprovincial travel and its role as a regional transport hub. The visit included a multi-agency situation meeting under the provincial Songkran road-accident prevention and reduction operations centre, alongside regional and provincial OIC leadership, to agree proactive measures spanning accident prevention and insurance protection tailored to local conditions. Policy direction was also delivered online to provincial OIC offices under Region 3 (Khon Kaen), focusing on field monitoring during Songkran and follow-up on provincial office performance in policyholder protection and public service delivery. The delegation then inspected the provincial operations centre and visited a public checkpoint and service point in Mueang Udon Thani district, while reiterating public guidance to check insurance coverage before travelling and use insurance to manage unexpected costs.
