The Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) announced the Good MPF Employer Award (GMEA) 2024-25 recipients and said it will temporarily suspend the programme to conduct a review alongside the transition to the eMPF Platform, which is expected to be fully operational by end-April 2026. A record 2,378 companies and organisations, employing over 330,000 people, received the award, a 3% increase from the previous year. The MPFA said the GMEA recognises employers that comply with Mandatory Provident Fund legislation and provide additional retirement protection for employees, and it has launched supporting publicity initiatives including a video series featuring interviews with eight awardees. The review is intended to ensure the GMEA aligns with eMPF and continues to promote collaborative efforts between employers and employees, with further details to be announced. Awardees recognised as “Good MPF Employer 2024-25” may continue to use the award title and logo until further notice.
