The Inter Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa has opened recruitment for a permanent Research, Documentation and Publication Assistant within its Policy and Research Directorate in Dakar, Senegal. The G4 to G6 role supports GIABA’s headquarters documentation function, including records management, operation of physical and virtual libraries, research support and the finalisation of technical reports for distribution or publication. The post reports to the Research and Documentation Officer and includes support for concept notes, background papers, research proposals, data collection and analysis, and research reports. Responsibilities also cover support for the regional money laundering and terrorist financing research network, FATF typologies and other partner projects, maintenance of typologies databases from open sources, support for ML/TF risk analysis, implementation of GIABA publication guidelines, management of publication inventories and support for GIABA information centres in Lagos and Abidjan. Candidates must have at least a Higher National Diploma, associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field and a minimum of four years of experience in research and documentation, project administration, technical cooperation or a related area. Applicants must speak English, French or Portuguese, with a second ECOWAS official language treated as an advantage. Annual salary is set at UC 26,768.180 for G4, UC 31,502.30 for G5 and UC 35,815.21 for G6, equivalent to USD 42,234.84, USD 49,704.33 and USD 56,509.24 respectively. The post is subject to ECOWAS local recruitment rules for general service staff, meaning recruitment must be made in the country or within commuting distance of the GIABA Secretariat and does not carry benefits reserved for internationally recruited staff.
