The State Bank of Vietnam reported on Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh accompanying Viet Nam’s Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh to SIBOS 2025 in Frankfurt, including meetings with SWIFT’s leadership and participation in conference events. During the engagement, the government asked SWIFT to consider holding a future SIBOS in Viet Nam, while Vietnamese authorities and banks showcased domestic digital finance and fintech initiatives. The Vietnamese delegation met SWIFT Chair Graeme Munro, Chief Executive Officer Javier Perez Tasso and the executive team, with Viet Nam expressing appreciation for SWIFT’s long-standing support in developing safe and modern international payments for the State Bank of Vietnam and Vietnamese credit institutions. SWIFT highlighted Viet Nam’s importance in its global development strategy and indicated it would continue close cooperation to advance international financial connectivity. A Viet Nam exhibition booth featuring the State Bank of Vietnam and three commercial banks, Vietcombank, VietinBank and Agribank, presented initiatives spanning bank digital transformation, cashless payment ecosystems, digital banking, digital financial products and fintech solutions under the theme “Empowering Digital Finance – Building the Bank of Tomorrow”, alongside remarks urging continued implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. SIBOS 2025’s conference theme was “The next frontiers of global finance”, with emphasis on opportunities to expand connectivity, cross-border payments and the application of new technologies.
