The Reserve Bank of Australia reported total assets and liabilities of AUD 355.126 billion at the close of business on September 30, 2026, an increase of AUD 7.552 billion over the week. Asset growth primarily reflected a AUD 3.864 billion rise in Australian dollar investments and a AUD 3.198 billion increase in gold and foreign exchange, both mainly driven by transactions. On the liability side, Exchange Settlement balances increased by AUD 3.431 billion to AUD 190.150 billion, while other liabilities rose by AUD 2.312 billion to AUD 16.020 billion. Deposits excluding Exchange Settlement balances increased by AUD 775 million, and Australian notes on issue rose by AUD 197 million.
